The tongue has power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.
--Proverbs 18:21 (NIV)--
How are you using your words today? Do you speak to glorify or vilify those around you? Do you know the words you speak have creative power to shape a destiny, inspire a vision, encourage a dream or accomplishment, raise self-esteem, and better humanity overall?
Do you realize your negative talk about your Self and others only hurts you and keeps you out of alignment with GOD? It is poison to your life. It has destructive energy that serves no purpose other than to hurt your relationships and bring ill will and ill health. The lingering effects of negativity ultimately manifests in your body as illnesses and an overall lack of well-being.
Set an intention to consciously use the creative power of your words to build a better tomorrow for yourself and others. Trumpet the GOOD and downplay your flaws since you ALL have both.
You see, your encounters rise or lower to meet the expectations expressed in your thoughts and words. Praise the GOOD freely and frequently. Be a life-giver, a life- saver, an encourager, a supporter, an example, and a role model. This simple act will change and enhance lives more than you can imagine. It has a far-reaching long lasting impact.
Yes, the power of life and death truly are in the tongue. Always remember, the statements of your tongue reflect the condition of your heart. Use your words wisely to create beauty and give the gift of life to yourself and others every day.
Punctuate your relationships with “I love you”, “I believe in you”, “I forgive you”, “I’m here for you”, “You are awesome”, “How can I help?” and other uplifting terms—NOTHING LESS. Know that every thought, word, and deed reflect the strength of your relationship with GOD. By glorifying others, you glorify and intensify your connection with your soul and with the presence of GOD.
